Kinesiology is a form of evaluation using muscle testing as a feedback mechanism to examine how a person’s body is functioning. When properly applied, the outcome of evaluation will determine the best form of therapy for the patient. Since Kinesiology draws together the core elements of many complementary therapies, it provides an interdisciplinary approach to health care. In general, the kinesiologist finds a muscle that tests weak and then attempts to determine why. Than he uses specific joint manipulation or mobilization, various myofascial therapies, cranio-sacral therapy, acupuncture/acupressure, supplements, dietary management and various reflexology techniques. Sometimes, the practitioner may check for environmental or food allergens by using a strong muscle to find what will weaken it. Kinesiology uses the triad of health — chemical, mental and structural factors — to describe the proper balance of health . The triad is represented by a triangle with structural health as its base, and the sides representing chemical and mental health. Poor health is due to an imbalance in one or more of those three. Triad of health is comprehensive and all sides must be evaluated for an underlying cause of a problem. One side of the triad can affect the other sides. Chemical imbalance may cause mental symptoms, etc. Kinesiology enables the practitioner to evaluate the triad's balance and determine therapy toward the imbalanced sides. |
